Freeman-Pask and Hosking take lightweight trials wins

Adam Freeman-Pask and Sophie Hosking were winners of the lightweight single scull events at Saturday’s third GB Rowing Winter Assessment Trials.

Freeman-Pask came down the 5km time trial course at Boston, Lincolnshire, in a time of 16:27.92 just under two seconds faster than reigning world lightweight men’s four champion Paul Mattick. Rob Williams, the Olympic reserve in 2008, was third.

Hosking’s victory in the equivalent women’s event came in a time of 17:51.82 – just under three seconds ahead of her London RC club-mate Laura Greenhalgh. Andrea Dennis was third in a time of 18:01.87.
