Neil Chugani to join the Board of UK Sport
Helen Grant, Minister for Sport, Tourism and Equalities, has appointed British Rowing’s interim CEO, Neil Chugani, to the Board of UK Sport for a three year term of office. He will take up his new role on 1st May, 2014.
UK Sport is responsible for investing in the region of £100 million of public funds each year to high performance sport.
The organisation is accountable to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), working to maximise British athlete success at Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as seeking to ensure that both the best structure and resources available to high performance sport are in place.
UK Sport Chairman, Rod Carr CBE, said “I am delighted to welcome Neil Chugani to the UK Sport board. He brings with him a wealth of experience in sport and business as we focus on finalising preparations for Rio 2016 and beyond, while striving to build a stronger more sustainable high performance system to benefit the UK for years to come.”
