Great Britain retain Coupe de la Jeunesse title with 11 medals in Cork
Great Britain won the Coupe de la Jeunesse title for the 15th time since the event’s inception in 1985
Great Britain’s junior rowers won the overall title at the Coupe de la Jeunesse for the third year in a row at a weather-affected regatta in Cork, Ireland.
GB topped the overall points table with 328 points from 25 races – 41 points ahead of nearest rivals Italy.
Adverse weather on Saturday saw the cancellation of a number of finals, but British crews secured 11 medals across the weekend, which also saw them win the men’s overall classification and finish a close second to France in the women’s classification.
The event will be hosted by Italy in 2019, where GB will look to take their fourth consecutive win and their 16th overall since its inception in 1985.
