British Rowing has apologised to a former junior rower and their family for the way the organisation dealt with allegations of bullying they raised in 2019. We have accepted that the investigation was not dealt with in a timely manner and was not adequate. British Rowing acknowledges the negative impact of this for the family and that the rower and their family deserved better. We are a learning organisation and have taken full consideration of where we could have done better and will take action to do so in future. The rower and their family are reassured by that. However, they have asked for their privacy to be respected and consequently neither British Rowing nor the individuals concerned will be commenting further.
