British Rowing Announces Details of 2023 Junior Championship Events
British Rowing is pleased to announce the dates and venues for this year’s Championship regattas for Juniors
The Junior Inter Regional Regatta (JIRR) is the first event on the calendar and we will return to the National Water Sports Centre, Nottingham. Further information will be available on the dedicated JIRR page.
Later in 2023, we are very excited to be taking the British Rowing Junior Championships (BRJC) back to Strathclyde Country Park, for the first time since 2015. Commenting on the venue choice, BRJC Organising Committee Chairman, Mike Martin said:
“I am delighted that, after an 8 year gap, we have secured Strathclyde Park as the venue for the BRJC in 2023. This 8 lane 2000m rowing course is World-class rowing facility, having hosted World Cup and European Championship regattas, World Under 23 and Junior Championships as well as British and World Masters Regattas, Commonwealth and Home Internationals. We are confident that coaches, athletes and spectators will relish the opportunity of competing at the venue.
We are working on a draft schedule that will see each separate event completed on the one day. We hope that will help clubs and crews to plan their weekend and allow for easier doubling up for crews and individuals who wish to do so.”
We are liaising with local accommodation providers and hope to be able to publish details of offerings in the near future.
