British Rowing appoints Marsh Sport as their Official Insurance Broker

Marsh Sport will arrange the cover for British Rowing’s corporate insurance as well as GB Rowing Team’s insurance, individual member and affiliated competition cover effective 1 April 2023

British Rowing can confirm the selection and appointment of Marsh Sport as its new insurance broker.

Marsh Sport is a trading name of Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk adviser with over 45,000 colleagues operating in more than 130 countries. Marsh Sport has dedicated teams across the UK offering insurance and risk advice solely to the world of sport. From grassroots level to the largest professional brands, their specialist services currently support over 100 similar sports National Governing Bodies.

British Rowing Director of Membership and Rowing Community, Marieke Hagemans said: “The objective of reviewing our insurance policies was to make sure we offer the best combination of value, level of cover and service for everyone involved in our sport. Improving the insurance cover for all types of rowing is a priority for British Rowing and I am really pleased to have Marsh Sport on board and look forward to working with them. I’d like to thank Howden, our outgoing insurance broker, for their many years of service to the sport.”

Later this year we will be in touch with community rowing clubs across the country as we look to develop a new group insurance scheme that affiliated clubs can opt into as part of their annual affiliation process. This will help us deliver value for our clubs as well as actively promote safe practices, one of our key strategic objectives.
