St Aubin’s Bay is a coastal rower’s dream. It’s a huge bay – the largest on Jersey’s warm south coast – which stretches around 5km west from the capital St Helier.

So if you’ve never been to Jersey, or you have and already know how gorgeous it is, this year’s British Rowing Offshore Championships are the perfect opportunity for a visit!

3 great reasons to enter BROC in 2024!

  • Jersey is gorgeous
  • No coastal rowing experience necessary
  • Boats available to hire from Swift Racing.

See you there!

Last year’s Championships saw 33 clubs from across the UK taking part with 22 clinching medals, some crewed by former GB Rowing Team athletes and Olympians. Perhaps more importantly, several ‘flat water’ rowers with minimal or even no experience on the sea had a great time getting to grips with the lively conditions.

No coastal boats at your club or can’t get them to Jersey? No problem! Swift Racing will have a fleet of hire boats there.

2024 holds significant milestones for the British Rowing Offshore Championships as this will be the first time Jersey will host a national-level rowing event. This competition will also mark the first year the Championships will be held as an event in its own right, having previously been hosted as a combined event alongside the British Rowing Beach Sprint Championships.

There are senior events for solos, doubles and coxed quads – for Mixed crews as well as Open and Women’s, Open and Women’s and Masters and Mixed Ability coxed quads, plus Junior solos and doubles.

Anticipation is high among the Organising Committee, as reflected by committee chair Sarah Gregory who said, “We are so excited to be coming to Jersey for this year’s Championships, and we’re ready to welcome competitors from all around the UK which should provide for some exciting racing.” If you’ve got any questions, just email us at [email protected].
