The National Water Sports Centre (NWSC) was the home of the National Schools’ Regatta (NSR) from 1973 until 2015. NSR Chairman Mike Martin said, “We are delighted to return to a venue that has hosted the regatta through an extended period of time.

“We are hugely grateful to Eton College, and in particular Lord Waldegrave, who, as Provost, was instrumental in supporting our request to host the regatta at Dorney Lake. In our time together, the regatta has continued to grow and adapt to the benefit of all the young athletes, schools, clubs and supporters.

“However, over the past few years, there have beenan increasing number of requests for us to consider a return to Nottingham. With many factors to consider and after very positive and fruitful discussions with the operations and management teams at the NWSC, the Committee have agreed that the time is right for this to happen.

“We are excited to work with NWSC to make NSR 2025 a positive, enjoyable and exciting regatta at this great rowing venue and we will be working together with partners over the next few months to ensure that we make the best use of the facilities and site. As ever, we will keep everyone updated as we prepare for NSR 2025.”
