2025 British Rowing Coaching Conference now open for bookings
Following a break of a number of years, British Rowing is delighted formally to announce the return of our Coaching Conference on 25-26 January 2025
The event will take place in the Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre, Birmingham, with a Gala Dinner on the evening of Saturday, 25 January to celebrate the successes of coaches in 2024 from community rowing programmes through to performance programmes.
Topics and speakers
Day one will have a community focus, and we are delighted to announce Olympic medallist and author Cath Bishop as keynote speaker. Cath will be drawing on her career as an Olympic rower, diplomat and now culture coach. Cath will talk about “Why Deeper Connections Hold the Key to Unlocking Potential (on and off the water); exploring better ways to succeed through the power of collaboration, the quality of our relationships and understanding the person behind the rower, coach or volunteer.
Day two will have a performance focus, including a keynote speech from Great Britain Head Women’s Coach Andrew Randall. Following the success of Team GB in Paris, Andrew will speak about the 2023-24 campaign as the team progressed through the various training phases of the year through to the ultimate ‘summit push’ in Paris. He will discuss how they went about establishing a winning culture within the groups and the various tools used to keep this alive and lived over the three years. Imperative within this was the development of a space where individuals could flourish within the team environment.
We will also be joined by a range of guests who are showing their determination to reshape coaching to build a stronger, healthier and more inclusive sport for the future.
Who is the conference for?
The conference is open to all rowing coaches and those who support coaching.
