It’s Awards Time!
Olympic Champion Imogen Grant recognised as a sustainability champion too
Imogen Grant is not only winning medals on the water, but is also winning things off the water. This month she was named Athlete of the Year at both the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Sustainability Climate Action Awards and the BBC Green Sport Awards. She’s been a real inspiration for everyone working at British Rowing and also for our clubs. Find out why she is so passionate about our rivers and her message of hope in this video.
The Clean Water Sports Alliance, of which British Rowing is a founder member was also shortlisted for the BBC Green Sport Awards.
British Rowing wins British Association of Sustainability in Sport’s Leadership Award
We are thrilled to have received the BASIS Leadership Award for our Environmental Sustainability Strategy, Helping Our Waters Thrive, which we launched earlier this year.
RoWindermere tour sets high standard for sustainability
The first RoWindermere tour took place on 15 September. The event was underpinned by a number of sustainability initatives.

Join the March for Clean Water on 3 November!
This march, which organised by River Action, led by Fergal Sharkey, and supported by Bear Grylls is taking place on Sunday, 3 November 2024 in central London, finishing in Parliament Square. We are encouraging all members of the rowing community to attend if they can so that we can show our concern for the state of our rivers.
