Annie Withers developed her talent in rowing through the high performance programme at Oxford Brookes University.
In 2015, Annie followed a win in the senior eight at Henley Women’s Regatta with a silver medal in the four at the European University Championships. She was then selected for the eight that won a fine bronze medal at the World Rowing U23 Championships in Plovdiv.
In 2016 Annie competed at the FISU World University Championships and won bronze in the women’s four.
She made her senior debut in the women’s eight at the 2017 European Rowing Championships in Racice, finishing fourth. She went on to win silver and bronze medals in the eight at the World Cup regattas in Poznan and Lucerne.
Annie was selected as a spare for the World Rowing Championships in Sarasota-Bradenton.

Beyond the Boat
Annie is a qualified physiotherapist, and would like to pursue this as a career when she finishes rowing. Her sporting idol is Jessica Ennis Hill: “She is a successful sportsperson as well as an amazing mother”.
She would invite Usain Bolt, Katherine Heigl and Beyonce to her dream dinner party, and her ideal post-competition food is a takeaway curry.
