Great Britain squad to compete at SH Netz Cup announced
Great Britain will compete against crews from Germany, USA and Netherlands at the SH Netz Cup in Rendsburg
Ten athletes from the GB Rowing Team will travel to Germany to compete for Great Britain at the SH Netz Cup in Rendsburg this weekend.
The athletes, including seven who competed at the recent World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, will compete in a series of races against crews from Germany, USA and Netherlands between Friday and Sunday.
Matthew Tarrant, James Rudkin, Ollie Wynne-Griffith, Tom George and cox Henry Fieldman won bronze medals in the men’s eight in Plovdiv last Sunday, while James Johnston took bronze in the men’s four the previous day. Ollie Cook finished eighth in the men’s pair with Matt Rossiter.
Sholto Carnegie, Harry Glenister and George Rossiter all competed for the GB senior squad in the 2018 international season, including together in the men’s four at World Cup 3 in Lucerne. Carnegie and Glenister went on to win gold at the World University Rowing Championships in Shanghai.
Athletes will take part in indoor rowing sprint races on Friday night, followed by on-water sprints on Saturday evening. On Sunday afternoon the four nations will race over a 12.75km course along the Kiel Canal.
