British Rowing Adventurer Series launches
Take on the Adventurer Series – an exciting running or rowing challenge for individuals and clubs throughout the lockdown
Travel the world with British Rowing as we bring you 11 stages of our challenge series inspired by famous locations around the globe. Every week during the lockdown, we’ll bring you a new challenge which you can complete running or on an indoor rowing machine. The challenges have been designed to keep you inspired and active while you train from home and it’s free for everyone and suitable for all ages and abilities.
Our Adventurer Series begins in France before we’ll move on to Egypt, Peru, the USA, Tanzania and beyond! The first five stages are confirmed below with another six to be announced soon.
At the end of each challenge, we’ll be publishing all the results – you’ll be able to see who has completed the challenge fastest as a runner or rower and filter by a number of categories. We’ll also see which clubs can generate the most entries!
As the series progresses, we’ll also update a leaderboard – adding up the time you take to complete each challenge to give individuals a cumulative time (“Tour de France style”) and an overall leaderboard for clubs with the most entries.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll bring you details of the later stages of the challenge and aim to bring you team challenges where you can get together, pull on your club colours and complete the stage with the help of your crew.
Week 1 of the challenge takes us to Paris and the famous Champs-Élysées, home to the finish of the Tour de France. Row or run the 1910m from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe – record your time using your rowing machine, a stopwatch or running app and then upload your time to Challenge Hub using the link below:
