Leander Club – Lead Physiotherapist

Job Summary

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with interest in sports 15 hours per week, self employed basis.

  • To work as an autonomous practitioner in providing physiotherapy assessments, diagnosis and treatments to elite level rowers.
  • To maintain up to date physiotherapy records in line with professional standards.
  • To use evidence based practise and specialist skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
  • To coordinate medical services available through the existing medical sponsorship plan.
  • To liaise with other members of the coaching team and other healthcare professionals to provide the optimum management of patients.
  • To manage, attend and take part in education and training independently.
  • To participate in activities to further develop own development.
  • To maintain and improve the high standards of the club.

Clinical Responsibility

  • To provide physiotherapy input to athletes and staff members with a variety of musculoskeletal injuries ad conditions.
  • To provide the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and overall management of a musculoskeletal caseload.
  • To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention.
  • To provide group classes as required.
  • To discuss services and treatment options to patients.
  • To ensure that patients are involved in the planning and prioritisation of their rehabilitation plans wherever possible.
  • To attend coaches meetings and provide physiotherapy input as required.
  • To demonstrate high level of clinical effectiveness by use of evidence based practice.
  • To contribute to patients’ care and delivery of service by developing skills beyond one’s own professional training.
  • Work as a lone practitioner.

Professional

  • To comply with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy codes of professional conduct at all times.
  • To be responsible for personal continuous professional development by the use of self education, reflective practise, and attendance at post graduate courses as required and to maintain a CPD portfolio.
  • To further develop the integration of evidence based practise, musculoskeletal treatment techniques, therapeutic handling skills and specialist knowledge of particular conditions.
