Putney High School – Senior Rowing Coach

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Rowing Coach to play a key role coaching at one of the UK’s most successful schools with a reputation for excellence in sport.

In January 2016, Putney High School opened its very own Boathouse on the Putney Embankment, providing a springboard for success for the girls we have rowing and racing. Our Boat Club provides a state-of-the-art training facility which continues to develop our athletes. This is a fantastic time to join Putney High School, with our crews competing in a range of competitions, including the Henley Royal Regatta, with 2021 marking our first entry in the inaugural Junior Women’s eight event.

As Senior Rowing Coach, you will be responsible for providing excellent and innovative coaching to the senior squad team. You will plan and execute training sessions, on and off water, and ensure that individual progress is regularly assessed. This will include attending and providing support at races, regattas, our Easter training camp and weekly coach meetings. You will also provide important administrative support to the Head of Rowing and Director of Performance.

To be considered for this role, you will possess a UKCC Level 2 or equivalent rowing coaching qualification as well as a RYA Level 2 Powerboat qualification (or be willing to achieve this). You will bring a wealth of knowledge to the role, including Tideway experience and a background of rowing at a high level. We expect you will have previous coaching experience in a school or University environment and at a national level, pairing this with a passion for the sport and teaching.
