Bedford Modern School – Assistant Director of Rowing
Bedford Modern School (BMS) is an HMC Independent Co-educational Day School located on the outskirts of Bedford. Our facilities are excellent and include a separate Junior School, dedicated Sixth Form building and purpose built Science Centre. Our students have access to impressive sports facilities, which include a strength and conditioning suite with two specific S&C coaches, ergo room and large boathouse on the banks of the River Ouse.
Due to growing demands of the sport Bedford Modern school wish to appoint a high calibre and experienced Rowing Coach to develop our rowing programme. A dynamic, inspirational and organised coach, the successful candidate will assist the Director of Rowing with the day to day running of the Boat Club, the development of BMS rowers specifically performance boats/athletes and take responsibility for the tracking of performance data.
The role requires a coach who holds a British Rowing or equivalent qualification at Level 2 or above with a proven track record coaching competitive crews/individuals to a National Schools and HRR standard OR experience as a high level competitive rower coupled with a proven knowledge of operating health and safety systems and equipment maintenance.
This is a full time role, working on average 35 hours per week, term time plus 9 weeks in school holidays
The role will include working weekends and unsocial hours. There will also be the necessity to accompany our students on rowing trips including tours, training camps and regattas.
