Latymer Upper School – Assistant Boathouse Manager/Rowing Coach
We are a school that values diversity and individual contribution, supporting and encouraging staff to pursue their interests and achieve their ambitions.
With a long tradition of boys’ rowing, since turning co-ed, the school has rapidly built a strong and robust girls’ programme, delivering consistent, high-level performances in multiple boat types. Latymer Upper Boat Club (LUSBC) is now one of the most successful co-educational school boat clubs in Britain, with established sculling and sweep rowing programmes. The boat club boasts impressive participation numbers spread equally across girls and boys.
The role of the Assistant Boathouse Manager is to support the Boathouse Manager in all matters relating to the Boat Club and under the guidance of the Head of Rowing, coach throughout the Boat Club.
The role will be split approximately between 20 hours working as Assistant Boathouse Manager and 20 hours working as a Rowing Coach as directed by the Head of Rowing. This may vary depending on the time of year and required needs. Under the guidance of the Head of Rowing, the coaching team shares responsibility for the use of the boathouse buildings and contents, administration and entries and relationships with stakeholders.
This is a full-time year-round role (40 hours a week).
