Team Announced for Para-Rowing Regatta to Paris
Six GB Rowing Team athletes will race at the 2023 Para-Rowing Regatta to Paris (8-9 July) on the Paris 2024 course in Vaires-sur-Marne, France
The Para-Rowing Regatta to Paris sees double Paralympic Champion, Lauren Rowles partner again with Gregg Stevenson in the PR2 mixed double sculls (PR2 Mix 2x) after they recorded a world best time to top the podium at the European Championships in Bled and then again at World Rowing Cup II in Varese. Both athletes will also double up to race in the respective single sculls events.
World bronze medallist in 2022, Benjamin Pritchard will be making his return to racing in the PR1 Men’s single sculls (PR1 M1x). After winning a European bronze medal in Bled in the PR3 mixed double sculls (PR3 Mix 2x), Sam Murray will be taking to the water in Paris in the PR3 men’s single sculls (PR3 M1x). Paralympic champion Ellen Buttrick returns with Charlotte Coburn in the PR3 Women’s pair (PR3 W2-).
Tom Dyson, Paralympic Team Leader said: “This is one of a handful of events specially set up for the Paralympic programme and represents a great opportunity to race on the 2024 Paris Paralympic course and for our athletes to gain more racing experience. We will also be joined by Phil Smith, ParalympicsGB Deputy Chef de Mission, who will be observing the team’s preparations ahead of the 2024 Paris Games.”
