BRIC is back: Date and location announced for the British Rowing Indoor Championships 2023
On Saturday 9 December, the British Rowing Indoor Championships 2023 will be hosted alongside FitFest 2023 at the NEC in Birmingham
We’re excited to announce that the British Rowing Indoor Championships (BRIC) will be back in 2023!

NEC Birmingham (National Exhibition Centre)
For the first time, BRIC will be a part of ‘FitFest 2023’, the UK’s one and only fitness festival for true fitness competitors and enthusiasts, which will take place at NEC Birmingham on the 8-10 December 2023.
Open to all from ages 11 up, BRIC will offer a mix of 2,000m, 500m and timed events for all Open and Women’s categories, including:
- Open (to anyone over 18)
- U23
- Junior
- Lightweight
- Masters (all age categories from 30 – 100+)
Adaptive and Para events are offered in all categories, with races over 2,000m, four minutes and one minute.
Further junior timed categories will also be offered, from two up to six minutes depending on year group.
Team relays will be back for 2023 as 4km races, with 8 minute races for adaptive and junior teams.

What is FitFest 2023?
5,000+ fitness enthusiasts are expected to be in attendance at FitFest 2023, where multiple fitness events will run over the three days including:
- The British Rowing Indoor Championships
- ATHX Games – the Ultimate Functional Fitness Experience
- SiD Triple Threat – an Open CrossFit competition for all levels of athlete
- The England Weightlifting Championships
How can I watch?
Spectators are welcome (and encouraged!) at FitFest 2023 – you’ll be able to purchase tickets on the FitFest website soon.
FitFest 2023How can I take part from home?
On Sunday 10 December, our indoor rowing partner, the EXR App will provide the opportunity to take part in a free virtual row session, allowing users of multiple indoor rowing machines to come together and row globally across a virtual water, helping cap off a weekend of exciting indoor rowing engagement.
