British Rowing Offshore Championships to relaunch for 2025
Members of the coastal rowing community interested in helping to shape and run a national level coastal rowing competition going forwards are encouraged to contact us to get involved
Following the announcement on 14 May that the 2024 British Rowing Offshore Championships (BROC) would be postponed, representatives of the BROC Organising Committee and British Rowing have engaged with representatives from the coastal community to discuss next steps.
Substantial and helpful feedback was provided to British Rowing and it is clear that there is significant work to be done in order for us to run a national offshore rowing championships that meet the expectations and needs of coastal clubs and rowers.
British Rowing is committed to running an Offshore Championships, however we acknowledge there is work to be done to bring the event to the required standard. As part of this we understand that making better use of the expertise which already exists within the coastal community around running offshore events will help us to shape and run a competition worthy of national championship status.
Whilst this review process is taking place and, in order to allow sufficient time to shape a competition that is fit for purpose, it has been decided that no BROC will be held in 2024, but we will relaunch a new and improved BROC format in 2025.
Can you help?
