Barnes Bridge Ladies RC – Development Squad Coach
We are looking for a session coach to lead our Development squad starting in September 2024. Our development squad is currently in a growth stage and we are continuing to build it through our yearly Get Fit and Row course which will run in September 2024.
This role is suited to both coaches in the early years of their coaching careers who would like to gain the experience of taking responsibility for a squad for the first time as well as experienced coaches who have experience taking novice rowers from learning to competing.
Responsibilities include:
- Building a foundation to continue to grow a development squad from
- Fostering positive team behaviour and spirit
- Teaching and embedding good rowing technique
- Planning squad sessions and developing a training programme
- Planning squad racing programme for the season
- Getting involved in our Get Fit and Row course and assessing candidates to join development squad
- Carrying out the admin necessary to run a squad (setting crews, collaborating with the Competitive squad coaches)
- Having an open communication channel with the squad
- Work closely with the club and captaincy to carry create positive momentum within the squad and club.
