Surbiton High School – Rowing Coach

Surbiton High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Rowing Coach to join our thriving Sports department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in coaching rowing at various levels, from beginners to competitive athletes.

Surbiton High School Boat Club has been encouraging pupils to engage with the sport of rowing since 2010 and has now built an enviable reputation as one of the leading rowing programs for girls in the country. The main ethos of the Boat Club is centred around developing a lifelong passion for rowing in a fun and enjoyable environment. Pupils start rowing in Year 8 and can continue through to Year 13, with regular training camps at the boathouse or in France and Italy.

Located by the River Thames in Teddington, the boathouse boasts a dedicated coaching team and over 200 pupils rowing, making it a thriving rowing community. In this fun and enjoyable environment, pupils develop an understanding of accountability to themselves, the crew, and the club; whether training, racing at local or national events, or representing Great Britain.

Start Date: September 2024

Hours: 28 hours per week, Monday to Saturday. You may also be required to work additional for events and training camps as well as Sundays on occasion.

Salary: £27,385 ‐ £33,354 (FTE), Actual Salary £20,447 ‐ £24,904

Type: Permanent, Part-time, 52 weeks of the year
