University of Leeds – Senior Physiotherapist

Do you have an enthusiasm for sports development and elite sport? Do you have excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships and networks? Do you have experience of working independently and as part of a wider team?

The University of Leeds has a new strategy for sport and physical activity which articulates the aims of our community being healthy and well, personally developing and reaching their potential, and experiencing a sense of belonging. This post offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist who can demonstrate the highest standards of personal, professional and managerial attributes. As a Senior Physiotherapist, your main duties will include:

  • Supporting the Assistant Head of Sport (Development) in the successful implementation of aspects of the new strategic plan, “Do what moves you”.

  • Overseeing the Sports Massage clinic delivered to student-athletes through student placements.
  • Liaising with Head Coaches and Strength and Conditioning coaches with regards to athlete rehabilitation and return to fitness procedures.
  • Working with the Occupational Health Service to meet their objectives for the Physiotherapy referral scheme.
  • Where appropriate, inform and educate athletes, patients and coaches in rehabilitation programmes, either preventative, performance enhancement or directly related to recovery from injury.
  • Within the rules of professional confidentiality, regularly meet with coaches, athletes and other staff members to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach is taken to injury prevention and rehabilitation.
  • Promote and uphold University values through personal example and working practices.
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required, consistent with the grade of the post.

These duties provide a framework for the role and should not be regarded as a definitive list. Other reasonable duties may be required consistent with the grade of the post
