In 2024, England Rowing continued its current success at the Home International Rowing Regatta (HIRR), winning all four trophies for the third consecutive year, becoming the first nation to do so in Scotland. On the Beach, the team took its first-ever overall win at the Home International Rowing Beach Sprints (HIRBS), something the team will look to continue as the event moves to Ireland for the first time.
The Selection Policies for both disciplines have been updated for 2025 with the HIRR Policy receiving extensive updates to reflect changes to the competition; Under 23 single sculls will now replace the Lightweight single sculls and PR3 Mixed double sculls will replace the PR3 Open and Women’s single sculls. The trials process for the PR3 Mixed double sculls will remain in singles with the fastest open and female scullers selected to row in the double.
Another change for 2025 is that both the open and women’s Senior coxed fours will be selected from the GB Under 23 final crew formation. The remaining sweep boats (2- and 4-) will still be selected from the England Trial.
