British Association of Sustainability in Sport – FREE courses
There are some places on free training courses in March (some online and some in person) that representatives from affiliated clubs are entitled to go on. These include:
- General introduction to sustainability
- Measuring emissions
- Carbon literacy training.

If you’d like to ‘dip your toe’ into water testing, then the Great UK WaterBlitz SpringWatch opens on 4 March for you to sign up to receive a testing kit. The WaterBlitz itself runs from 25-28 April 2025.
Check the long term flood risk for an area in England
The Environment Agency recently reissued their flood risk mapping, which looks at river, surface and groundwater flooding – so individual clubs can have a look at what their local risk is.
Solar panels bring light to off-grid boathouse
A case study from the Sheffield rowing clubs who, with no mains electricity in their boathouses, had long relied on carbon-intensive generators… until they switched to a renewable solution.
