Becky started rowing at the end of her first year at university where she studied Sport and Social Science.

Before that she had spent 10 years as a swimmer, swimming internationally for Wales during that time. Her first memory of rowing was watching Helen Glover and Heather Stanning at the 2012 London Olympics and hearing them in their interviews afterwards talking about the ‘Start’ programme. That memory stuck with her and she decided she would try rowing as a ‘back up plan’ once she was done with swimming. She eventually switched sports in 2017 whilst at Bath University, a Start Centre location.

In May 2024, Becky and Mathilda Hodgkins Byrne qualified the Women’s double sculls for Paris 2024 at the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta. They went on to win a wonderful bronze medal at the Olympic Rowing Regatta, Becky’s third International rowing competition.

Becky comes from a very sporty family: both her parents are PE teachers and played sports internationally, whilst her brother and sister have now done the same. Much to her English Dad’s disgust and her Welsh Mum’s delight, she is a huge Welsh rugby fan and enjoys nothing more than a trip to Cardiff to watch the games.

Outside of sport she has always loved Harry Potter, frequently re-reading the books, watching the films and getting very competitive in trivia quizzes.
