Bedford Modern School – Senior Rowing Coach

Required for September 2022

Bedford Modern School is an HMC Independent Co-educational Day School located on the outskirts of Bedford. Our facilities are excellent and include a separate Junior School, dedicated Sixth Form building and recently opened Science Centre. Our rowers have access to all sports facilities, which include a strength and conditioning suite with two specific S&C coaches, ergo room and large boathouse.

We wish to appoint a high calibre Senior Coach to enhance our rowing programme. A dynamic, inspirational and experienced coach, the successful candidate will be able to work with novice crew’s right through to the senior squad, assisting the Director of Rowing with the day to day running of the Boat Club.

The role requires a coach who holds a British Rowing or equivalent qualification, with a proven record of success with young rowers, and a good working knowledge of British Rowing’s RowSafe document.

This is a part-time role, however, there is the opportunity for full-time hours for candidates willing to assist in other aspects of the school, for example, cover lessons. The role will include weekends and unsocial hours. There will also be the necessity to accompany our students on rowing trips including tours, training camps and regattas.

Closing date: 9am on Monday 6 June 2022

Interview: Tuesday 14 June 2022
