British Rowing – Performance Programme Coordinator – Pathways

Sitting within the GB Rowing Team’s Programme Support team, that underpins the full breadth of GB Rowing Team’s Olympic, Paralympic and Pathway Programmes, this role will provide support to British Rowing’s Performance Development Academies and GB High Performance Academies.

These programmes aim to broaden the diversity and inclusion of rowing’s talent and development pathways, presenting the successful candidate with an opportunity to help them deliver the athletes and coaches who are the future of GB Rowing Team.

This role will also provide support to the Coastal and Beach Sprints activities within British Rowing. Beach Sprints, in its first cycle as an Olympic discipline, is rapidly expanding, with competitive opportunities for rowers at a domestic, Home International, Commonwealth and World level. The successful candidate will have the skills to add to the systems and processes that underpin success in this developing area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Alongside colleagues, working to deliver programmes that identify and develop Olympians and Paralympians of the future.
  • Coordinating and delivering National Development Camps for around 100 rowers and coaches on the Olympic Pathway.
  • Providing operational support to the GB Beach Sprint programme, including but not limited to, production of pre-event information, support at trials events and liaising with competition Organising Committees to ensure entries are received.
  • Managing high volumes of data across programmes, aiding the long term tracking of talented athletes and ensuring all data is handled securely.
  • Working closely with coaches, support staff, rowers and parents to ensure the successful delivery of activities.

A bit about you

Essential Criteria
  • Logical and analytical with a systematic approach to achieving tasks by being methodical and thorough with an eye for detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to maintain an assertive but friendly and diplomatic manner when dealing with external and internal contacts and to remain calm and good humoured in all situations
  • Confident and competent IT skills, in particular word processing and spreadsheet skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, when required.
Desirable Criteria
  • An understanding of the High Performance Sport environment
  • Experience of working in sport in a sport administration role or directly with athletes
  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace and its range of applications
  • A keen interest in sport.
