British Rowing – Task and Finish Group Members (Volunteer, Temporary)

British Rowing seeks volunteers from the rowing community to join a Task and Finish Group for approximately 2 months to review and enhance proposals for changing its Governance structure

The British Rowing Board has been engaging with Committees and Regional Councils proposals to change our Governance structure.

The intention of these proposals is to foster a new way of working with the Committees abd Councils and other volunteers to ensure that we are focused on the areas of activity that will make the most impact on our sport in all of its forms and perhaps more importantly as to how we could work together to grow the sport and help it thrive in the future.

The feedback has been invaluable and we are delighted that many of you see the benefits that the proposed changes could bring. However other ideas have been tabled, a few areas of concern have been highlighted and we are now seeking input to work through solutions that will shape our thinking further.

To do this we are looking to form a new Task and Finish Group from February through to at least the end of April whereby members of the British Rowing Board, the Executive and volunteers from the community will come together weekly (evening meetings) to see how we can improve our proposals further.

Initially we are looking for three members from the rowing community to help us – please see the group’s Terms of Reference. If you or someone you know would be keen to be involved then we would love to hear from you. Our intention is that the Chair and Vice Chair of the group will be selected from the final group that is created.

In order to convene the group as soon as possible we are inviting applications by 5pm on 28 February 2025:

Following the closing date the applications will be reviewed by the People, Culture and Nominations Committee and candidates may be contacted to arrange a further discussion. Our aim is to have the first meeting (evening meeting) early in March for those who are successful.

Salary: Volunteer

Type: Part time (to approximately end April 2025)

Application Dates: From Friday 21st February 2025 to Friday 28th February 2025
