Claire’s Court School – Gap or Trainee Rowing Coach
Claire’s Court School are looking to appoint a Gap or Trainee Rowing Coach, to join their existing team, from September 2023. You will coach pupils from our senior girls’ and boys’. This is a part-time post working 20 hours per week all year round. This is a great role to balance with developing your own potential as a rower. Sessions will primarily be in the afternoons.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate rower and aspiring coach who is committed to their own development and co-creating an engaging environment for students to learn and progress.
To be successful in this role, you must be:
A committed rower with competitive experience
Keen to contribute to the whole department and develop as a coach
Patient, with the ability to inspire confidence in others
Skilled in building excellent working relationships with students and colleagues
Flexible in your approach to work, with the ability to work outside normal working hours, as some weekend and evening work may be required
Above all, you must want the very best for our students and be prepared to put their needs first. You recognise the importance of educating the whole child within a broad curricular and co-curricular programme, and of achieving high standards.

The amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are “protected” and not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the Disclosure and Barring Service website. Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us: this will depend on the nature of the position and the circumstances and background of your offence(s).
