Cygnet Rowing Club – Club Coach Recruitment
Cygnet Rowing is seeking a club coach to support the growth and development of its men’s squad.
We are a well-established, friendly, volunteer run club with an active squad that is looking to grow and develop. The club competes locally and regionally in both regatta and head race competitions across all classes of boats. We have a good fleet of modern boats and excellent on-site land training facilities and a friendly, active social scene off the water. We’re the perfect spot to broaden your experience or as a supplementary coaching opportunity.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated coach looking to develop themselves and the club and to work with an individual who is keen to support the active recruitment and development of Cygnet Rowing as a community and our competitiveness as a squad.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver up to four coached water sessions per week; (summer training includes two weeknights and weekend sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings with fewer winter sessions, usually weekend only)
- work with the Cygnet Captain to set the direction and performance ambition for the club in head and regatta competitions;
- develop, set and oversee a water and land based training programme to develop the technique, fitness and performance of our rowers, taking into account a range of experience and ages;
- support the pipeline of recruitment and development of talent from learn to row through to development of the senior rowers;
- engage and support the growth and development of rowing at Cygnet as a community and competitiveness as a squad.
The position will be considered either as paid (where applicable) or voluntary. Applications are welcome from various levels of experience and backgrounds, Cygnet is a great club for building or developing coaching experience, including working towards coaching qualifications on a voluntary basis.
Paid coaches will require a minimum British Rowing L2 coaching qualification, with salary dependent on experience.

The start date is flexible and we are happy to discuss options if you are able to deliver some, but not all, of the squad sessions.
