Dulwich College – Senior Rowing Coach
We are seeking to appoint a motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic rowing professional to join our growing team at an exciting stage in the development of the Boat Club.
Tasks and duties
Promote enjoyment of the sport of Rowing and respect for the laws and rules of the sport with particular attention to the British Rowing Rules of Racing and the British Rowing Water Safety Code.
Core duties
- Ensure the safeguarding needs of the boys and students from external school programmes are met.
- Dependent upon experience, lead the coaching of the Seniors and attend all relevant GB Rowing trials and selection camps.
- Support the Head of Rowing with selection of senior crews ahead of major races.
- Attend land based training sessions at Dulwich College.
- Attend Heads meetings, Regattas and Training Camps where appropriate.
- Provide logistical support regarding the transport of equipment across a variety of locations including the boathouse, College, race locations, training locations and training camps.
- Support the Boathouse Manager with boathouse maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient and productive working space.
- Support the Head of Rowing on the racing schedule and equipment purchases.
- Maintain a list of registers, attendance, training scores and telemetry data.
Additional duties
- Ensure, in partnership with the Head of Rowing and other rowing coaches, that information held on College systems such as ISAMS, Teams and SOCS relating to your group or groups is relevant and maintained as up-to-date.
- Prepare individual yearly reports for your group or groups.
- Be the lead contact for senior rowing parents.
- Look after your crews whether training or in competition, always ensuring the welfare of the pupils.
- Ensure that boys comply with College expectations of behaviour and dress.
- Comply with the procedure for reporting serious injuries; and the procedure for reporting incidents as laid down by British Rowing.
- Assist the Boathouse Manager with the repair and maintenance of rowing equipment and other Boat Club related work.
- Other occasional duties as may from time to time be required by the Head of Rowing; the Physical Education Department or Dulwich College.

Salary: Pro rata of £34,000 - £36,000
Type: Circa 38 hours per week
