Enable – Lead Junior Rowing Coach (Barn Elms Boathouse)
The purpose of these roles is to lead the organisation and coaching of the junior competitive squad groups. We have two positions available for experienced coaches to join our team!
The Leisure Team are passionate about benefitting the local community through sports and leisure activities. The leisure team want to enrich all lives within Wandsworth leading on the needs of the community, delivering programmes that reach out to local places and people, removing barriers and increasing access to activity.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the J16 to J18 athletes within the competitive junior squad.
- Establish a clear 3 year strategy for the squad and regularly review progress towards identified targets with the Head of Rowing.
- To deliver quality sessions following the GB Rowing Team technical model, How much how often guidance, and Rower development guide.
- Coach on the year 9+ junior community sessions which are a key pathway to the competitive squad.
- Establish a development pathway for rowers to move into the competitive squad.
- Organise and manage training camps.
- Guide rowers through the GB trials process.
- Maintain high levels of communication with parents, athletes and the coaching staff.
- Arrange entry to regattas and competitions.
- Prepare crews and equipment to be competitive at both local and major national events, including trailering of boats.
- Maintain accurate attendance and progress records.
General:
- Work with your line manager to identify your own support needs and undertake continual personal and professional development.
- To comply with Enable’s Codes of practice and conduct, including policies and procedures concerning data protection, health and safety and safeguarding.
- To be committed to the promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion for others, both colleagues and clients.
- To create and maintain a safe, supportive and welcoming environment where all people are treated with dignity and their identity and culture are valued and respected. Report any instances of inappropriate behaviour or discrimination.
- Ensure data is kept securely in line with data protection law and Enable LC’s procedures.
- To be fully aware of the principles of safeguarding as they apply to children and vulnerable adults in relation to your work role. Always follow safeguarding procedures and ensure that your line manager is kept fully informed of any safeguarding concerns.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities that contribute to the overall function of the team, appropriate with the grading of the post.
- Assist with any duties, events or activities hosted by Enable.

Salary: £42,161 - Prorated
Type: Part time: 15hr/week or 11hr/week , Permanent
