Hartpury University and Hartpury College – Rowing Academy FE Lead Coach

Hartpury University and College are recruiting a lead coach for the College Rowing Academy. With a strong tradition of producing junior international rowers and high achieving domestic crews, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious coach to work with a British Rowing Performance Development Academy. You will lead our college squad focussing on individual rower development and performance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of a training programme appropriate for high-ambition U19 rowers
  • Lead the delivery of land and water based training and camps/competition
  • Lead the development and implementation of a culture and philosophy which is both effective and utilises the strengths of the rowers
  • Ensure rowers receive adequate feedback and support on performances during coaching sessions, competitions, and 1:1 review meetings
  • Engage with the team of coaches and support the development of studentship coaches by engaging in regular CPD
  • Recruitment of high potential rowers into the academy

Person specification:

  • Experience leading squads with a performance focus
  • Willingness to embrace an effective development model and bring your own experiences and knowledge into the academy
  • Full UK drivers licence or international equivalent, preferably with towing experience.
