Imperial College Medics – Senior Squads part time coach

Imperial College School of Medicine Boat Club are looking for a new and enthusiastic coach for our Men’s and Women’s senior squads for the upcoming academic year. Housed at Imperial College Boat House in Putney we are a mixed club who welcome all levels of rowers, with our senior squads each having at least 1 year rowing experience.

For both our senior squads we’d be looking for a coach who would be willing to:

  • Adapt and cater to each group’s specific needs and goals, both on and off the water.
  • Coach on the water, maintaining consistency in our students training and plan squad-specific outings and exercises.
  • Help our captains formulate effective and efficient training plans off the water to maximise success in races whilst also working around our intense studies.

Our goals for this year:

  • Our Men’s squad are looking for a coach to help them maintain headship of the United Hospitals races, which they gained in the past year.
  • Our women’s squad are looking for coaching to gain headship in all United Hospitals races, as well as getting a crew to Henley Women’s.

Coaching Requirements:

  • Level 2 coaching qualification (or looking to obtain one within the year).
  • Level 2 powerboat license.
  • Available to coach both squads, for 2 hours each, once a week (total of 4 hours per week) on a Wednesday afternoon, Saturday or Sunday.
  • Knowledge to help formulate land training programs.

This would be a PAID position, the rate set at £20/hr for 26 weeks (excluding the period between the 16/12/2022 and 07/01/2023).
