Infinity Boat Club – Senior Rowing Coach

Infinity Boat Club seeks a qualified rowing coach, who is inspired by the prospect of building a successful community-based rowing club, with the aim of improving young lives in the North East of England. This exciting inclusive program, allows school age children free access to the great sport of rowing.

The founders of Infinity Boat Club believe rowing is a sport that can form and transform the character, resilience, and health of young people through the skills, teamwork, physical activity, and personal disciplines it fosters.

You will be fully supported by our very experienced ‘Board of Trustees’ with funding in place to provide new life opportunities for our young members.
About Infinity Boat Club.

Founded in 2023 we have our own modern boathouse that houses a modern fleet of boats, blades and coaching launches. With a purpose-built modern gym, equipped with C2 rowing machines, weight training and associated fitness equipment, we aim to educate about the benefits of physical activity for health and mental wellbeing.

Infinity have formed close working partnerships with 8 local schools,, giving us the opportunity to introduce rowing to over 4,000 local school children last year.

Infinity Boat Club firmly believes in the benefits and positive learnings gained from its young athletes competing at races in local, regional and national competitions. In our first-year athletes have competed in multiple events across the country with success at the British and National Junior indoor rowing championships. On the water, crews have won multiple medals at local regattas and made credible progress at a national level.

About the role.

We are seeking a coach who knows how to motivate and get the best out of young people, so should be experienced in designing and delivering a competitive training programs on and off the water. At the same time having the ability to maintain a friendly environment that encourages our all athletes to benefit from the competitive and recreational aspects of rowing.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • British Rowing Club Coach- Level 2 or above.
  • Previous experience of high-performance programs, whether as an athlete or coach.
  • Proven positive leadership skills.
  • Willingness to work with existing coaches and volunteers to help with their development.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in monitoring the squad’s physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and wellbeing of members.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated to ensuring the best outcome for members.
  • Personable, confident, self-motivated and able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communications
  • Additional sports related qualifications.
  • RYA Powerboat Certificate.
  • Experience of working with children or young people.
  • Able to deal politely and effectively with pupils, parents and the general public.
  • Understand fully what is required to promote the aims and ethos of Infinity Boat Club.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Excellent organisational skills and be flexible and adaptable in order to meet ever-changing needs and priorities.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Salary: Highly competitive – based on experience.
