King’s Ely – Lead Boys Rowing Coach

King’s Ely is looking to recruit an ambitious person for the role of Lead Boys Coach starting ASAP.

The successful candidate will support in day-to-day running of the Boat Club and lead the J14/15 boys squad as well as supporting the J16-18 programme alongside the Head of Rowing.

Duties:

  • Oversee the Year 9-10 boys rowing programmes as supported by the Head of Rowing (HoR)
  • Assist in the running Year 11-13 boys rowing programme as supported by the Head of Rowing.
  • Organise and run extra-curricular rowing sessions for Year 9-10; these include Circuit, Ergometer, Weights, and Water session in liaison with the Lead Girls Coach.
  • Organise and attend all rowing fixtures and events at the HoR’s discretion.
  • Assist the HoR with the administration for Rowing.
  • Assist the HoR with Boathouse duties including minor equipment repairs and boat rigging.
  • Drive minibus/school vehicles to events.
  • Communication with key stakeholders and parents to support the Boat club as necessary.
  • Attendance training camps and rowing events requiring overnight stay.
  • Assisting with the evening activities for the School boarding community e.g. Gym/Sports Hall supervision.
  • Undertaking other duties as reasonably requested by the Director of Sport or other senior staff.
  • Maintaining professional standards of attendance, punctuality and conduct with other pupils, parents and colleagues.
