Marlow Rowing Club – Championship Masters Squad Coach

About Us

We are Marlow Rowing Club, a vibrant, thriving, forward-looking club with a large and diverse membership. We have over 500 active members of all ages across our competitive, development and recreational squads. Marlow Rowing Club is recognised as a pioneer in the world of para rowing and are home to the UK’s largest adaptive squad. Our lottery funded clubhouse is one of the best rowing facilities in the country, with a fabulous, well-equipped gym. Don’t take our word for it, come and take a look or talk to the GB U23 and Senior squads which periodically train here.

Our top-quality fleet is well maintained and, with an ambitious fundraising plan, is being renewed every year.

We are the only rowing club on our stretch of the Thames and have shared access to a long stretch below Marlow lock.

Our masters squads operate in three tiers, the first develops new starters or returners, the second targets club level regattas with the third tier focussed on championship level events like VHoRR, National Masters, Henley Masters Regatta and World Masters. This role coaches the championship level group, the Young Vets.    The squad is open to men and women and is made up of a number of former senior squad members, accomplished rowers from other clubs and those who have progressed through the development pathway.

The squad has grown over the last twelve months, is vibrant, friendly, highly motivated and looking to build on the excellent progress made under coach, Imogen Walsh. In the last season the squad has clocked up wins at HoR, National Masters and logged some good performances at Henley Masters and World Masters.  Our women’s section started in September and is already attracting accomplished athletes.

The club’s ambition is to continue to grow and develop our junior, senior and master’s high-performance groups to become pre-eminent in the UK.
