Milton Keynes RC – Club Coach

Milton Keynes Rowing Club is a friendly, competitive club located in North Buckinghamshire who regularly competes at local, regional and national levels. We’re looking for an enthusiastic coach to provide excellent training and guidance to both our senior and development/Learn to Row squads.

This is an exciting time to be part of MKRC as we continue to build upon our recent racing successes and training programme, but the Club is also in the process of creating a new Junior Squad within the club for ages 14-18.

Responsibilities

Working alongside the Club’s Captain and Squad Captain, you will plan, design and deliver an overall training and development programme for all levels to continue the Club’s racing successes and help beginners develop up to senior level.

During the summer months, sessions will be mostly on the water so you will use the Club launch boat to observe and advise rowers on the lake.

Through the winter months, you will devise and deliver targeted land training plans based on your observations from the summer months and agreed goals with the captains.

This is a part time coaching position covering our water and land training sessions throughout the year.

The sessions are Saturday and Sunday mornings (7am -11am) plus Monday and Thursday evenings (6:30pm – 8:30pm).

This role would suit either an individual with several years’ experience coaching all levels, or an ambitious newly qualified coach looking for an opportunity to bring their skills and experience to both senior and development rowers.

Qualifications

Delivered success at club/university/school level coaching qualification (minimum: UKCC Level 2 or international equivalent)

Desirable
