Milton Keynes Rowing Club – Club Coach

The Club Committee are looking for an experienced Sculling and Sweep Coach who could well be aiming to establish, or re-establish themselves, in the rowing coaching world in a well-equipped, safe, and secure coaching environment.

We are a friendly, competitive club that likes to train hard and are looking for an enthusiastic coach to provide guidance to the whole club and particularly, at this time, to both our senior and development squads.

As we develop our coaching structure, further guidance will be more directed at performance groups.

This is an exciting time to be part of MKRC as we continue to build upon our recent racing successes and training programmes.

This is currently a part time permanent coaching position covering our water and land training sessions throughout the year as detailed above. Planning training programmes aligned to key racing events for both winter and summer racing. The club are offering a remuneration for coaching based on experience and committed coaching time. We are keen to have a coach start at the earliest opportunity.

Able to work alongside the Club’s Captain and Squad Captain and LTR Coordinator, a charismatic individual ideally possessing a flair for planning, designing and delivering an overall training and development plan to all levels to continue the Club’s racing successes and help beginners to advance through to senior (Masters) level.

This role would ideally suit, an individual with several years’ experience coaching all levels, or an ambitious newly qualified coach looking for an opportunity to bring their skills and experience to both senior and development rowers.

Current Qualifications (L2 essential and L3 or the ARA equivalents desirable). International equivalents will be considered with view to bringing them in line with British Rowing. Essential Safeguarding, Drug awareness and First Aid qualifications in place by the time the successful applicant takes up the position.

A DBS check will then be undertaken. A Full clean driving licence (with an active section to tow trailers). An ability to drive and steer a launch.

For an informal chat and further details, please contact Suzanne (Club Captain) by email in the first instance to: [email protected]

To apply please send your details to: Suzanne De Maine, MKRC Club Captain, Email: [email protected]
