Molesey Boat Club – Junior 13-15 Lead Coach
Molesey Boat Club is seeking an ambitious coach to lead the J13-15 section.
Job detail:
- Responsible for athletes from J13 to J15.
- Create a fun and inclusive atmosphere that creates competitive crews at the top end but also allows slower bloomers the chance to participate and enjoy the sport.
- Follow the GB Rowing Team technical model and What It Takes To Win Model (WITTW).
- Supporting and coaching athletes with a clear development pathway and appropriate communication, assessment and support.
- Maintain high levels of communication with athletes, parents and the club committee.
- Trailing of boats to events and management of athletes and boats at events.
- Organize and manage annual Junior camp in partnership with other junior coaches.
- Responsible for management of boats allocated to Junior group, carrying out rigging and minor repairs, referring major repairs to appropriate officers for resolution.
- Strong focus on safety on the water and in the gym.
- Adherence and enforcement of club and British Rowing rules and policies, especially with regard to welfare (including child protection) and anti-doping.
- Develop and maintain appropriate standards of behaviour as a senior representative of the club both on and off the water following BR guidelines.
- Collaborate with other coaches including attending MBC coaches meetings, arranging boat sharing, trailering boats to events etc.
- When time allows there will be the opportunity to coach other groups, including Senior men and women, and Masters men and women.
- Helping to organise and grow our thriving Learn To Row programme which is a key funding stream for the junior programme and pathway into the club.
