Mossbourne Rowing Academy – Head Coach

We are recruiting for the role of Head Coach of the Mossbourne Federation Rowing Programme. The Head Coach will be based at Mossbourne Community Academy in Hackney, and will also work at the Royal Docks Adventure in Newham and Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy. This role has responsibility for the ongoing development of all aspects of the Mossbourne Federation rowing programme.

he Mossbourne Federation Rowing Programme goals are to produce high standard racing crews. Regular goals and targets will be set by the Rowing Programme Steering Group and will include but not be restricted to success at national competitions, ensuring that as many athletes as possible from diverse backgrounds represent their club, and developing rowing throughout the school to support future performance.

The following experience and qualifications are required for the role:

  • Prior experience leading a school or club junior rowing programme, or equivalent.
  • Minimum Level 2 Rowing Coaching qualification, Level 3 desirable.
  • Level 2 strength and conditioning qualification.
  • Trailer driving license and towing experience essential.
  • Launch driving qualification (RYA Level 2 or equivalent) and experience essential.
  • Tideway rowing experience desirable.
  • First Aid essential.
  • Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate and experience.
  • Experience of working with young people from diverse backgrounds highly desirable.
