Oriel College Boat Club – Men’s Head Rowing Coach
Oriel College Boat Club seeks a head rowing coach to lead their Men’s senior squad.
Oriel has a record of success both past and present, with our men holding more headships than any other college. The men are currently 3rd on the river in Torpids and were Head of the River in Summer Eights for the past three years. We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic coach to help continue and build upon this success. The successful applicant would lead the training programme of the men’s squad throughout the year, focusing on the 1st and 2nd boats. This includes a wide range of abilities from recent novices through to Blue Boat athletes.
We are based on the Isis in Oxford and at Wallingford Rowing Club. The season is based around the intercollegiate bumps races in early March and June, and we will also look to be competitive at some external races. During term time, the coach will need to be free several mornings per week (5am-8am) and for 4-5 hours on both Saturday and Sunday. This may shift to afternoons or evenings in the April-June period, but all times are negotiable.
The role is to begin in October 2024, with a competitive salary.
