Performance Investment and Business Manager – GB Rowing Team

The Great Britain Rowing Team is seeking a savvy and experienced professional with impeccable integrity and a strong background in financial planning to join in preparation for the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic cycles.

British Rowing’s Performance Directorate, Great Britain Rowing Team, is responsible for the preparation and delivery of one of Britain’s most successful Olympic and Paralympic sports. The team’s successes rely not only on the front line activity of World Class rowers and coaches, but the business acumen, financial management, and strategic decision making that underpin the team’s present and future from behind the scenes.

Working closely with the Director of Performance and the Performance Leadership Team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the forecasting and financial management of a substantial quadrennial investment. As an indicative figure, this will exceed £28million across the Paris 2024 cycle.

The need to balance investment across multiple key areas such as workforce, domestic and international training activity, equipment and the invaluable facility that is our National Training Centre at the Redgrave Pinsent Rowing Lake, make this post an exciting prospect for someone accustomed to managing a complex range of resources. Experience of procurement and a passion for problem solving in a fast paced environment are a pre-requisite for this role.

The successful applicant will be relied upon as a source of sound advice and judgement to senior leadership and as such will have demonstrable experience of being part of a high performing senior management team. An ability to constructively challenge and hold people to account could make the difference both financially and in medal performances on the water.

The role is based at British Rowing’s Headquarters in Hammersmith, London.

A Job Description and Person Specification is available here.

Applicants should apply by submitting their CV and cover letter to Nina Johan, Interim HR Manager, British Rowing at [email protected] by 30 May 2023.

Interviews will be held on 5 June 2023 at British Rowing Headquarters, 6 Lower Mall, Hammersmith W6 9DJ with the potential for second round interviews on 9 June 2023.

Salary: Competitive

Application Dates: From Thursday 20th April 2023 to Tuesday 30th May 2023
