Performance Science Lead, GB Rowing Team
GBRT is excited to be searching for an experienced and forward thinking sports science expert to fill the role of Performance Science Lead. GBRT have a legacy of Olympic and Paralympic success and the successful candidate will need to build on the foundations of past successes and integrate the latest advances in sports science in order to deliver Olympic and Paralympic success.
Purpose of the Role:
Lead the identification, implementation and development of performance impacting sports science interventions throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Pathways, that maximise the GB Rowing Team’s medal winning potential at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the identification, alignment and delivery of Performance Science Strategies throughout the GBRT Olympic and Paralympic Pathway that best prepare athletes to deliver Olympic and Paralympic medals.
- Lead and manage a team of sports scientists, pathway physiologist and sports nutrition experts that deliver against the needs of Head Coaches and Performance Support Strategy
- Actively support the head coaches with the Performance Planning process by using training science expertise to analyse the efficacy of training programmes and optimise training programme design
