Sheffield University – Part-Time Coach

Sheffield University Rowing Club are looking to fill a part-time coaching position, starting September 2022 through until Henley Royal (July 2023). We are located at the picturesque Damflask Reservoir in the Peak District, about a 15 minute drive from the main University campus. The club is predominantly sweep focused; however, we would be looking to race more sculling boats in the coming year.

In terms of success rates, we successfully qualified two crews into HWR in 2022 (4x and 4-) and a 4- in 2021 HRR. Over the course of the last three years, we have achieved top 10 BUCS Head positions from both Senior and Novice squads and a bronze medal for the WCh 4- at BUCS Head 2022.

We are looking for a coach who would primarily focus on our two senior squads and aiding with the Novice progression when feasible. We do not have a set training schedule so the weekday sessions could be made flexible around you, however weekends (ideally both Saturday and Sunday) would be essential.

Requirements:

  • Evidence of high-level past coaching and results
  • Familiarity with a university rowing programme
  • Powerboat licence
  • Regularly be available for four training sessions a week
  • Availability for a week Easter training camp
  • Work with our captains to provide feedback and input into race crew selections

Salary: This would be a paid per hour position (price to be discussed at interview, based on experience).

How to apply: Please send a CV by email to [email protected] by Thursday 15th September.

More information: For further details, please contact us at [email protected] or message us on social media.

Application Dates: From Tuesday 6th September 2022 to Friday 23rd September 2022
