WRCCBSF Spectator Services Manager
Great Britain has won the rights to host the World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals in 2022. They will be held in Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire, Wales, in October.
📣A bit about the role
We require a supremely organised, innovative, willing, and creative spectator services manager to help with the tasks outlined below. They would work closely with the British Rowing commercial manager, event director and World Rowing spectator services team.
You will be part of the event organising committee and will work with the event director helping scope some content for a short and simple opening ceremony, medal ceremonies, and a gig series as well as sourcing content for our spectator area.

👋 A bit about you
Are you creative, organised and interested in being involved in a major event in one of the prettiest parts of Wales?
This role is about both the creative side of the event – helping shape content for an opening ceremony (very simple – I hasten to add!), a few stage slots during both weekends in our paid spectator area and helping scope the ‘Sun Gone Downer Gig Series’ (working title..) as well as helping with the supremely organised World Rowing’s sports presentation team on medal ceremonies – so the combination of flair and attention to detail is ideal. You might come from the theatre/performance world or might have had experience of something similar on other sporting events – either of these experiences (and probably others we haven’t thought of) would be beneficial.

The World Rowing Coastal Championships and Beach Sprint Finals is rapidly growing in popularity and there is great scope for innovation. 2022 will be a very exciting year in the development of the sport which form part of the Youth Olympics in 2026.
So far international competitive rowing on the world stage has been dominated by flat water rowing, with coastal rowing being a relatively new format. The reason for its rise in popularity is because it is fun, fast and a lot of things can happen in a race which makes it awesome to watch. It’s also held besides and, on a beach, – what could be better?

Location: Working from home, occasional visits to Saundersfoot.
Salary: This is a voluntary position. Expenses will be covered.
Commitment: Circa 16-20 days between April-November excluding being on site. The job could be done at any time of the day, asides from the meetings.
There would be a requirement to be on site for approximately two weeks around the time of the event from c. 4 October – 17 October.
Contractual Status: Fixed term until completion of the event debrief (est. end of November 2022).
