Where: Join the British Rowing Club Coach (Sliding Seat) course at the Agecroft Rowing Club, 15 The Quays, Salford, M50 3SQ.
When: Saturday 5th April, Sunday 13th April, Friday 18th April, Saturday 19th April 9:00-5:00 each day.
Note : No parking on site - Paid for parking available within 5-10minutes walking. Sainsburys local also within about 5 minutes walk. Tram route and bus routes within 5 minutes.
About the course: The British Rowing Club Coach (Sliding Seat) course is a recognised Level 2 Certificate in coaching rowing. The qualification is the first step towards coaching individuals on the water and is aimed at beginner coaches. It is applicable to coaches working with all groups, from novices to competent rowers. The qualification focuses on developing three core coaching behaviours:
- Having a concern for standards
- Being a rower-focussed coach
- Looking to develop continually as a coach.

Who can attend? Anyone over 18 years of age inspired to develop their coaching skills.
Mandatory Pre-requisites:
All learners will need to have completed some additional workshops before signing up to a Level 2 course. The prerequisites for this qualification are:
- Safety Basics Online Module here
- Cold Water & Hypothermia Online Module here.
- Capsize and Recovery Training here
Once you have completed these workshops, you will need to upload the certificates onto the ‘Credentials’ section of your membership account with British Rowing. The system will only allow you to book on once this process has been completed.
A current ‘Emergency Aid’ and ‘Safeguarding & Protecting Children’ certificate must be held at the time of booking your ‘Independent Assessment’.
'Safeguarding and Protecting Children' training must be through UKCoaching - see https://www.ukcoaching.org/courses/workshops/safeguarding-protecting-children. 'Emergency Aid' can be done with any independent provider. It must be a practical course that includes emergency CPR training.
