Olympians back in the water for Vets Boat Race

Sir Matthew Pinsent and Jonny Searle will become the first Olympic Gold medallists to compete in the Oxford & Cambridge Veteran’s Race when they don the Dark Blue colours on Friday 25th March.

The two Olympic champions, who rowed in the winning Oxford boat in 1990, will be looking to reduce the deficit of losses to Cambridge in the Veterans race, which stands at 10 to 5 in favour of the Light Blues after 15 races.

The race starts at 16:20 from the University Stone at Putney and ends at the Furnivall Steps, Hammersmith.

Tomorrow’s Race is the 16th in the series and will be umpired by Boat Race record-holder Boris Rankov.
