Clean Sport – GB Rowing Team Spring Trials

This is a reminder that all athletes, coaches and support personnel preparing for the GB Rowing Team Spring Trials must meet certain Clean Sport training requirements.

  • Athletes must attend an iRowClean workshop or the UK Anti-Doping Compete Clean+ course this season
  • Coaches must have a current UK Anti-Doping Coach Clean certification
  • Other support personnel must have a current UK Anti-Doping Introduction to Clean Sport certificate.

Workshops are being delivered at all British Rowing High Performance Academies ahead of trials and at selected other programmes.

The UKAD courses can be accessed via it’s Clean Sport Hub. FAQ’s and further details on the hub can be found here.

If you complete one of these courses please remember to upload your certificate as a credential on your British Rowing membership profile.

Safeguarding

British Rowing Club Affiliation – Safeguarding Information

The club affiliation process has now opened for this year. As part of this process a club must confirm its CWO has a current DBS and undertaken the required safeguarding training.

Further details on DBS and safeguarding training process can be found in Safeguarding Handbook 1 – The CWO.

Sport Welfare Officers

Sport England has established a network of Sport Welfare Officers (SWOs) who will be based locally around the country to support local clubs and share good practice. More information about the network and a list of those SWOs already recruited is available on the Active Partnerships website.

All safeguarding concerns must continue to be reported to British Rowing via our Report a Concern webpage so that they can be appropriately managed.

Club Welfare Officers will be contacted directly with further detail about this network in the next couple of weeks.

International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day, on 8 March, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

The campaign theme this year is ‘Inspire Inclusion’. Organisations, groups, and individuals can all play a part – in the community, at work, at home, and beyond.

How can your club Inspire Inclusion this month? A free planning toolkit is available to give you some ideas. Use the tags #IWD2024 and #InspireInclusion to share.
